Starting in Bergen, Norway, the journey will take you to the stunning fjords of Eidfjord and Rosendal, followed by the charming coastal town of Flekkefjord. Crossing into Denmark, you’ll visit the picturesque cities of Aalborg, Samso, and the beautiful island of Aeroskobing. The voyage concludes in Warnemünde, Germany, offering a perfect blend of dramatic landscapes, coastal beauty, and vibrant culture across Scandinavia.
MS Nordstjernen Travel Itinerary*
Day 1: Embarkation in Bergen: Your journey begins in the historic Hanseatic city of Bergen, famous for its old town and the colorful Bryggen district. In the afternoon, you’ll settle into your cabin. Enjoy the evening, relaxing on the saloon deck as the ship remains docked overnight.
Day 2: Scenic Cruise through the Hardangerfjord : In the morning, your voyage takes you through the majestic Hardangerfjord, with its towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls offering a breathtaking backdrop. At the end of the fjord lies Eidfjord, a hidden gem surrounded by pristine nature and towering mountains. The ship anchors overnight, allowing you to enjoy the tranquil evening fjord ambiance.
Day 3: Rosendal: The charming village of Rosendal, nestled at the foot of imposing mountains, is home to Barony Rosendal, the smallest castle in Norway. Stroll through the magnificent gardens and marvel at the stunning scenery of fjords and mountains surrounding this cultural highlight.
Day 4: Flekkefjord: In Flekkefjord, you’ll discover a typical Norwegian coastal town, characterized by white wooden houses and a vibrant harbor. The picturesque streets invite you for a leisurely stroll, while the surrounding landscape of gentle hills and coastal beauty captivates the senses.
Day 5: Ålborg: Welcome to Ålborg, the vibrant heart of Northern Denmark! Known for its rich history and modern charm, Ålborg offers a perfect blend of cultural experiences and cozy Scandinavian atmosphere. Stroll through its picturesque old town, visit the stunning Ålborg Tower for breathtaking views, or explore the bustling waterfront along the Limfjord.
Day 6: Samsø: The green island of Samsø impresses with idyllic landscapes and charming villages. Known for sustainable agriculture and local produce, it offers an authentic Danish experience. Anchoring in a peaceful bay ensures a serene night onboard.
Day 7: Lille Bælt and Ærøskøbing: Sailing through the Lille Bælt, a scenic strait, provides fascinating views of the Danish coastline. In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Ærøskøbing, often called the “Fairy Tale Town.” Its cobblestone streets, historic houses, and colorful alleys transport visitors to a bygone era.
Day 8: Disembarkation in Warnemünde: In the morning, your journey ends in Warnemünde, a popular Baltic seaside resort near Rostock. Here, you bid farewell to a voyage that has taken you through some of the most stunning coastal landscapes and charming small towns of Northern Europe.
